I am Simangaliso Brenda Nyoni. I am a multicultural practice strategist and therapist committed to fostering equity, inclusion, and cultural responsiveness across individual, organizational, and systemic levels. I provide culturally responsive and decolonial therapy, guiding clients through the complexities of identity, migration, and experiences of racism. Beyond individual therapy, I work with teams and organizations offering tailored workshops, debriefs, and strategic advice to embed cultural responsiveness into policies, systems, and everyday practice. I develop practical resources, including materials on antiracism, to strengthen professional practice and support sustained systemic change. Additionally, I share insights as a keynote speaker and panelist at mental health and cultural forums, bridging clinical expertise with advocacy, education, and leadership in culturally responsive practice.

iMpande, which means 'root' in Isindebele represents the strength and growth that are central to my vision. This name pays homage to my grandfather’s name, Mpande, a pivotal figure whose profound influence has shaped the person I am today. As the cornerstone of my family, his wisdom serves as my compass, guiding my vision to empower women through counselling.
"iMpande" was born from a realization that mainstream therapeutic models often fail to capture the intersectional complexities of women of colour. My experience as a sexual assault counsellor and advocate has taught me that healing is not just an individual act, but a political and cultural one.
I am a member of the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW), and I adhere to the highest ethical standards, ensuring that every session is a sanctuary of privacy, respect, and profound transformation.
iMpande positions itself in relationships of accountability to Indigenous people and the land where healing conversations take place. We acknowledge the Traditional Custodians of the multiple lands across Australia and honor the Elders past and present. Sovereignty was never ceded.
